The standard LiveNoise System includes both methods. With this setup there is no software to run locally and you can view the results from anywhere with Internet access. With the cloud based reporting system the noise monitor uploads its measurements to our LiveNoise Server for you to view using the Web Reporter. One of the great challenges in providing cellular, radio, and WiFi is providing enough signal strength to rise above any other forms of interference. The noise floor varies depending on the background noise in the environment. To determine the signal strength of a Wi-Fi connection on Windows 10, use these steps: Click the network icon in the notification area of the taskbar. The noise monitor may be connected via 3G, 4G, 5G, LAN or Wi-Fi (an external modem is required for 4G/5G). The higher the noise level, the less space there is for the actual data that is being transmitted on the channel. The LiveNoise Reporter software can generate reports of the noise and alarms over daily, weekly, monthly or other custom periods. But 20 dBm (100 mW) 2.412 GHz should be the same power (by definition) as 20 dBm (100 mW) 2.462 GHz. The NetBox takes noise measurement data recorded by the XL2 Sound Level Meter and makes it available online. Wi-Fi Channel: By clicking on the Project Configuration gear icon (on the bottom-left), you can also view the noise level by channel. Simply check the box next to the network(s) you wish to view on the left-hand side of the NetSpot window. The modem status will show the downstream SNr (signal to noise ratio) which usually should be above 30, mid to upper 30s is good, over 30 usually means. Using this setup there is no need for the monitors or software to communicate with the outside world. Wi-Fi Network: Each Wi-Fi network detected can be mapped individually. On a purely "internal" system, the noise monitor communicates continuously with the LiveNoise Supervisor software running on a computer on your network to provide real-time noise levels, long-term stored noise measurements and high-noise alarms.
